MY CAT KHAOS

In reference to my beloved cat, Khaos, this project delves deeply into procedural grooming using Houdini and rendering with Mantra to achieve lifelike details and a natural presentation. Every step, from the initial concept to the final render, has been a rewarding and educational experience.

I used the Maine Coon cat model I previously created, building on it with procedural grooming nodes. Initially, I constructed the foundational structures and layers through self-study, particularly in capturing the fur's natural flow and volume.

The rendering process in Mantra was crucial in achieving the high level of realism evident in the final image. Careful consideration was given to lighting and shading, which brought out the intricate details of the fur. I made the final look development in Nuke.

I want to thank my instructors, Miguel Ortega and Jackson Lukas, whose invaluable guidance and feedback significantly enriched this project. Their expertise helped refine the procedural grooming process, enhance the realism of the fur, and improve the overall quality of the final render.
