Maine Coon Cat Anatomy Study

This project is an in-depth anatomical study of a Maine Coon cat, encompassing the construction of a comprehensive 3D asset library from skeletal structure to musculature and finally to the skin. I executed all aspects of this project, including modeling, sculpting, retopology, texturing, and rendering. My primary source of anatomical reference was the book An Atlas of Animal Anatomy for Artists by W. Ellenberger, H. Baum, H. Dittrich, and edited by Lewis S. Brown, which provided extensive insights into the anatomy of feline species.

I learned the techniques for anatomical sculpting in Zbrush through Gael Kerchenbaum's lectures, which focused on deriving sculpting methodologies from anatomical studies. Throughout the foundational research and construction process, I was fortunate to receive guidance and feedback from Jason Brown. Miguel Ortega's assistance was also invaluable in refining my sculpting techniques and Look Development processes. I am immensely grateful for their support!

This project's creation involved sculpting in ZBrush, modeling and retopology using Maya, and detailed and realistic rendering using V-Ray, Cinema4D, and Octane.
